SACK OF POTATOES

If you live in Utah, you have to roll your windows up in the summer during church or you may find zucchini being pawned off in your car. Or so that's the rumor.

Well, in Idaho, it's potatoes.

Someone in our ward gave us an enormous sack of potatoes. Apparently, potato farmers are getting squat for their crops since the potato prices dropped so drastically, and it's going to cost more to ship them than its worth, so some are just giving them away.

They're HUGE too! We're not big potato eaters, but free food is free food!

So we find ourselves, like Forrest Gump, naming off all the things we can think of to use up these potatoes before their eyes sprout. After all, I don't have a cellar, and they'll freeze outside.

mashed
baked
roasted
fried
hashbrowns (shredded or diced)
funeral
country
scalloped
soup
french fries
chips
casserole
salad
with meat

Any more suggestions? I have around 50 pounds.

I've even though of crafts that could use them, like making stamps out of them. Those are actually really cool.

That is one massive sack of spuds!

What are funeral potatoes?

What about bashed (what the Scottish call mashed) or twice baked or wedges or jojos or carved like little Idaho style jack-o-lanterns? OK that last one was lame. But what are you going to do with them all???

Eddie and Dak would polish them off for ya. They LOVE potatoes.
